Alex Bowman names Jimmie Johnson as his 'best teammate ever'

He pointed out that the great, Jimmie Johnson was his best teammate ever and asserted that the current LMC driver is a great human being. Bowman is elated to have had the opportunity to learn from someone with such a work ethic and good mentor. He asserted that Johnson made him a better racer and a better person.

Gosh, by far the best teammate ever. He’s just a great human being (in) every category: work ethic, the way he treats people, he’s so good at all of it. To be able to learn from him was always really cool as a teammate. But then to be friends with him and talk to him was really fun. I’m just appreciative of all the support over the years; he made me a way better race car driver and person. Alex Bowman said via RACER.

Alex Bowman was a Jeff Gordon fans growing up

While talking about his experience watching Johnson’s Lowe’s car race, Bowman admitted that he doesn’t have any special memories of it. This was because of the fact that he was a Jeff Gordon fan as a child and was more focused on the No:24 team.

When I was watching NASCAR races growing up, I probably wouldn’t have picked up on the subtle changes that the 48 had over the course of all the Lowe’s cars. Until the end, when they started changing a bunch more, they were all similar for the most part. And I was a big Jeff Gordon fan anyway, so I was much more focused on cheering on the 24 anyway. The 2024 season so far hasn’t been great for Alex Bowman, as he hasn’t been able optimize the results as consistently as he used to be. He will be hoping to end the winless streak, which is now over two years, this week at Kansas or the next week at Darlington.
